The Saw filters material is made of quartz crystal. Through the semiconductor manufacturing process, it can be mass-produced to accomplish various specifications of filter performance.
The principle of operation is to convert the received electronic signal, that is, electromagnetic wave (electromagnetic) into mechanical wave (Mechanical) in the piezoelectric crystal, and the mechanical wave is delayed when propagating through the crystal. Then the delayed mechanical waves are converted into electrical signals by the electrodes on the back end. By combining the delayed output signal to reproduce the result, the goal of filtering unnecessary signals and noise and improving the quality of reception can be achieved.
The manufacture of RF Saw filters is similar to the semiconductor process, with the advantages of mass production and small area (Die Size), reasonable price and stable effect, so it is widely used in the design of radio frequency (RF) and intermediate frequency (IF) circuits of wireless communication. Because of its small size, high frequency band selectivity, low impedance error, low transmission loss, and high cost-effectiveness, Saw filters are mostly used in mobile phone applications.
